Team Laurelo has raised £1,000 for Child Bereavement UK after completing the Thames Moonlight 10K in London.
The Laurelo team swapped desks for trainers to take on the 10-kilometre challenge, raising money for a charity that means a great deal to us.
Thanks to the generosity of our friends, colleagues, partners and supporters, we reached our £1,000 fundraising target.
It was a fantastic achievement for the team, but more importantly, an opportunity to support an organisation whose work makes a genuine difference to children, young people and families across the UK.
Supporting Child Bereavement UK
Child Bereavement UK is a charity that Laurelo has been proud to support for the past two years.
The organisation helps children and young people when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, while also providing support to parents and families following the death of a baby or child.
Bereavement can affect every part of a family’s life and there is no single way that people experience grief. Having access to specialist information, guidance and support at such a difficult time can therefore be incredibly important.
Supporting organisations that provide this kind of help is something we care deeply about at Laurelo.
Our work regularly brings us into contact with people who are dealing with significant moments in their lives, and we understand the importance of approaching difficult circumstances with empathy, compassion and a human touch.
That is one of the reasons why our relationship with Child Bereavement UK means so much to the team.
Taking on the Thames Moonlight 10K for Child Bereavement UK
The Thames Moonlight 10K gave us the perfect opportunity to bring the Laurelo team together while raising money for a cause close to our hearts. Taking place through London at night, the challenge saw the team complete 10 kilometres along the Thames while raising sponsorship along the way.
There was plenty of energy, encouragement and teamwork throughout the event, and it was great to see everyone come together outside the usual working environment. But behind the challenge was a much more important purpose.
Every donation helped us move closer to our fundraising target and contributed towards supporting the work carried out by Child Bereavement UK. We originally set ourselves the goal of raising £1,000, and we are delighted to have now reached that milestone.
Thank you
Fundraising challenges are only successful because of the people who get behind them. We therefore want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared our fundraising page, supported the team or simply sent us some encouragement.
Whether you donated £5, £50 or helped spread the word, you played a part in helping us reach our target. The generosity shown by our colleagues, friends, professional partners and wider Laurelo community has been fantastic.
Two years of supporting Child Bereavement UK
The Thames Moonlight 10K is part of a wider relationship with Child Bereavement UK, which Laurelo has now supported for two years.
We are proud to continue raising awareness of the charity and the support it provides to bereaved children, young people, parents and families. There will undoubtedly be more opportunities for Team Laurelo to get involved with charitable activities in the future, and we look forward to continuing to support causes that align closely with our values.
For now, though, we simply want to say thank you.
To everyone who walked, donated, shared or supported us:
Every step. Every pound. Thank you.
