Bookkeeper/Finance Officer

Job purpose:

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our growing team.  You will be working directly with the Operations Manager and Directors to ensure the smooth running of our finance function in order to support our expanding operation.

 

Intro

Founded in 2013, Laurelo is a family-owned Probate Specialist Company.  We have built a team of professional and experienced advisers who between them have 50 years’ experience in guiding executors & families through the Probate Administration Service.  We take the complexity out of the probate application process, providing clear explanation and support along the journey.

Duties and responsibilities:

Operating across Laurelo Ltd and all its financial interests
Raise invoices
Complete data entry in Xero
Raise invoices
Track debits and maintain and monitor financial records
Raise and set up payment of invoices for approval
Monthly management accounts
Create and update spread sheets for business pipeline
Monitor money in client accounts, update records and client files
Prepare tax and VAT returns for our accountants/Directors sign off
Liaise with Directors over budget plan
Prepare tax and vat returns for our accountants sign off
Ensure all invoices and liabilities are paid on time
Prepare twice weekly payment run for approval
Any other duties, as directed

 

Requirements:

Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Excellent working knowledge and experience of using Xero
At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong organisational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to prioritise

Location:

Working from home and attending the office at least once a week

Hours:

30 hours per week (Flexible working hours)

Salary:

Pro rata £28k / annum
