During an arrangement meeting the funeral arranger asks the family, “I assume you need Probate” If the answer is “yes or Not sure” the arranger asks permission to give their details to Laurelo to call and our GDPR-compliant form is completed and sent over to Laurelo. If the answer is “No” the arranger may include one of our leaflets in case anything changes.
Once Laurelo receives a completed enquiry form the Laurelo bereavement team will call the family to understand if they actually have a probate requirement.
If they do then the family is offered a free face-to-face meeting in the comfort of their home to talk through their options.
If no probate is required the Laurelo bereavement team explains what the family has to do to close the deceased’s estate.
One of our consultants visits the family, in that meeting the consultant will check the Will, Death certificate, and assets. They will explain what probate is, whatas to be done, timeframes, and options the family have. We always go through all of the options:
- DIY – Our consultant will explain the pros & cons of completing the forms yourself.
- Use a Probate Administration company like Laurelo. Our consultant will give them a fixed price for us to do the work
- The family can seek further advice
If the family instructs Laurelo a fee agreement is signed along with relevant court forms.
A dedicated case Manager is appointed for the family and the Compliance Team is set to work to complete and submit the application. The family and source of the referral (if required) are kept up to date during the process.
Once The Grant of Probate has been issued to the family by the courts an invoice is raised for the family to settle their bill with Laurelo.
A testimonial and client feedback is collected from the client/family to ensure we are always improving.
