Last week, we gathered as a team for our annual Laurelo Strategy Day down in the South West of England and I’ve got to say, what a day it was! The perfect blend of reflection, planning and laughter!

As Business Development Manager, I spend a lot of time out and about, connecting with our valued partners, funeral directors, will writers, IFAs, celebrants. People who care deeply about the families they serve, and its’ exactly the same when I get the chance to sit down with the wider Laurelo team, it’s a real privilege. And this year’s strategy day reminded me just how aligned we are, not just in what we do, but in how we do it.

We kicked things off by looking back over the past 12 months. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day, but taking a moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved was genuinely moving. The growth, the challenges we’ve overcome, and most importantly, the number of families we’ve been able to support, it’s humbling. Every single person in our team plays a part in that, and it was clear from the conversations that our shared values and work ethic run deep.

Then came the exciting part…the upcoming plans for 2026. There’s something energising about being in a room full of people who are not only brilliant at what they do, but also genuinely care. We talked strategy, innovation, and how we can continue to improve the experience for the families we serve and the introducers we work alongside. The ideas were flowing, and the room felt electric.

Of course, no Laurelo day would be complete without a little bit of fun, and this year, we went sheep herding. Yes, you read that right. Sheep herding. It was hilarious, slightly chaotic, and surprisingly insightful. Watching the team communicate, adapt, and work together (with varying degrees of success!) was a brilliant reminder of the strength of our collaboration. Plus, it gave us all a good laugh which, let’s be honest, is just as important. I am sure we are all going to be sticking to offering world class probate support rather than becoming shepherds!

I left the day feeling proud, grateful, and excited. Proud of what we’ve built, grateful to work with such compassionate and driven people, and excited for what’s to come. It’s an absolute delight to be part of a team that shares the same values and vision and I can’t wait to help even more families in the year ahead.
