At Laurelo, we talk a lot about putting people first. That doesn’t just mean the families we support through Probate. It also means our team, the brilliant people who turn up every day with empathy, dedication and kindness in everything they do.

We’re proud to say that the last few months have been full of positive change, purposeful action and a few sweaty workouts too. Here’s a quick round-up of what’s been happening behind the scenes at Laurelo HQ.

We Launched ‘Laurelo Lift’, Our Internal Wellbeing Programme

We’ve introduced our very own wellbeing programme for staff. It’s called Laurelo Lift, and it’s been designed to support our team’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Highlights of the programme include:

  • Monthly tailored lunchtime workshops
  • Wellbeing surveys to keep our finger on the pulse of team morale
  • A dedicated peer support group to help manage compassion fatigue
  • A weekly Personal Training session to get everyone moving and outdoors

As a result, our team members are not just feeling healthier and happier. They’re continuing to deliver exceptional support to every client who picks up the phone to us.

Getting Away From the Screen and Into the Fresh Air

Many of us spend too much time staring at screens. Our HQ team noticed this too, so we decided to make a change.

Each week, we’ve been training with Russ from Bodywise Bodywisdom, an ex-forces Personal Trainer who puts us through our paces for a full hour outdoors. It’s been a brilliant way to disconnect, recharge, and do something as a team that benefits our minds as well as our bodies.

When we look after ourselves, we’re better able to look after others.

Learning to Cope With Professional Grief

As part of our ongoing commitment to staff development and wellbeing, we’re always on the lookout for meaningful learning opportunities.

Two of our team members, Zoe and Philippa, recently attended Hospice UK’s Coping With Professional Grief workshop. They described it as a great session and were grateful for the chance to explore not only how to better support our clients, but also how to manage the emotional impact of the work we do.

Workshops like these are an important part of how we continue to provide informed, compassionate support to every family we work with.

Matt Took On the Jurassic Coast for Child Bereavement UK

We couldn’t end this round-up without a shoutout to Matt, who recently ran the Jurassic Coast in support of Child Bereavement UK. It was an incredible challenge and a fantastic cause, supporting children and families through the devastation of grief and loss.
